Italian conductor and pianist Valeria Racco has an established collaboration with several of the leading opera houses, including English National Opera, Royal Opera House, The Grange Festival and Opera North.
This season she conducted Gianni Schicchi in Italy, and she will conduct Hansel and Gretel at Longborough Festival Opera.
She was assistant and cover conductor for Speranza Scappucci at the Royal Opera House during Veprès Sicilliennes. And she worked as assistant conductor in the previous seasons for Richard Farnes, Francesco Cilluffo and many more.
Valeria has started her career at English National Opera as trainee repetiteur, She freelanced for several years for the major opera companies working alongside international conductors and directors such as Karen Kamensek, Leo McFall, Martyn Brabbins, Keri-Lynn Wilson, Hilary Griffiths, Antony Hermus, Daniel Kramer, Richard Jones, David McVicar, Phelim McDermott, Edward Dick, Martin Lloyd-Evans and Clive Timms.
She hold the position of Opera coach at the Royal Academy of Music and Visiting Lecturer at Royal Birmingham Conservatoire. She coaches regularly at Guildhall School of Music and Drama.
Valeria studied at Guildhall School of Music and Drama at the prestigious Opera Course under the direction of Dominic Wheeler, where she has been involved in several productions as music director and pianist. She graduated from Bologna Conservatoire and she obtained her Master in Piano Performance in Antwerpen.
